Covid-19 Recovery Committee - Inactive
Purpose Statement: Assist staff with COVID recovery and response related to health outcomes. Term is limited to 6 Months

Criminal Justice Committee
Purpose Statement: To work with the County on criminal justice reform issues including Cite and Divert and to bring transparency to the policing processes in San Marcos as allowed by law.

Homelessness Committee
Purpose Statement: The Committee on Homelessness seeks to analyze and address the various sides of homelessness and housing vulnerability and its effects on the San Marcos community. Using experience, understanding, data and inclusive resolutions, the committee will work closely with service providers and various San Marcos stakeholders to help propose solutions that will address preventing homelessness, case management for those experiencing homelessness, transitional housing needs, workforce training, and all issues related to improving and stabilizing the lives of our most vulnerable neighbors.

Purpose Statement: To promote sustainable practices as defined in the City Council Sustainability Strategic Initiative.

Workforce Housing Committee
Purpose Statement: Promote the preservation and expansion of diverse, affordable housing choices in San Marcos in accordance with the Affordable / Workforce Housing Policy, City’s Comprehensive Plan, or any applicable plan or ordinance related to housing including the Strategic Housing Action Plan, once adopted. Review applications for Low Income Housing Tax Credit developments to ensure new developments provide the best services in a safe location for San Marcos residents with the most need. Review applicable Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) applications and initiatives.
